Today U.S. Representative Austin Scott (GA-08) released the following statement after voting for H.Res. 990, a resolution supporting the officers and personnel who carry out the important mission of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE):
"The brave men and women who enforce our immigration and customs laws are an integral component of combating drug and human traffickers and keeping our communities safe from violent gangs. They work around the clock to protect our great country, and they deserve our full support," said Rep. Scott. "I am proud to vote YES on this resolution today voicing the House's support for the men and women of ICE, and I would hope our colleagues on the left recognize the reckless and irresponsible nature of their calls to abolish this integral agency."
