Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) announced the passage of H.R. 5895, Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2019. This Appropriations bill funds three of the 12 annual spending measures-Energy and Water, Legislative Branch, and Military Construction and Veterans Affairs.
"This appropriations bill provides much needed funds for our nation's military in a fiscally responsible manner. It is the duty of Congress to provide adequate funding for these operations and our vote today confirms our commitment to providing a strong national defense and rebuilding our infrastructure while maintaining fiscal responsibility," said Rep. Tenney. "It has been my priority in Washington to eliminate wasteful spending. This bill contains a freeze on all members' salaries, preventing any pay increase for 2019. It also allows the Government Accountability Office to provide Congress with accurate, nonpartisan reporting of how taxpayer dollars are spent on federal programs."
