Today, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) issued the following statement in response to the failure of Securing America's Future Act of 2018, H.R. 4760.

"Immigrants have significantly contributed to the greatness of our country. However, we are a nation of laws and the laws surrounding our current immigration system need to be fixed. Securing America's Future Act provided the common-sense solutions to fix our broken immigration system and prioritize the safety of law-abiding American citizens," said Congresswoman Claudia Tenney. "Nations across the world have a merit based immigration system. Currently, our immigration system prioritizes chain-migration over skills-based migration, which fails to serve our national interests. Our country remains open to those looking to build a better life in pursuit of the American dream by immigrating within the clearly established boundaries of our laws. I will continue to work to ensure we pass comprehensive, merit-based reform that attracts talent, protects American workers, and fuels our economy."
