U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) today issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Trump v. Hawaii to uphold the constitutionality of the travel ban imposed by President Trump:

"The Supreme Court made the right decision to uphold the President's authority to protect our nation, including not allowing entry of people who cannot be vetted sufficiently to ensure they don't pose a threat to Americans. I'm pleased the court ruled that President Trump's travel ban is within his presidential authority."
