Today, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) issued the following statement praising the Senate's passage of the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act of 2019:

"The FY19 NDAA provides a clear framework for rebuilding and strengthening our military. In support of the National Defense Strategy, this legislation prioritizes the development of strategic capabilities while maintaining the strength of the force. Additionally, the Senate bill authorizes another well-deserved pay raise for America's men and women in uniform," Sen. Cruz said. "I am proud of the work we accomplished for our nation in this year's NDAA. With the Senate's passage, we take another step towards supporting our military, enhancing its readiness, and providing the capabilities our military needs. In today's challenging threat environment, a strong military is vital to preserving our national security, prosperity, and way of life."

During the Senate Armed Services Committee markup process Sen. Cruz secured over 30 provisions, and filed seven amendments as a part of his efforts to secure victories for Texas' military communities and address the United States' national security interests. Below are the amendments and provisions Sen. Cruz secured in the final passage of the NDAA FY19:
