Rosen: Health Care Premium Increases and Coverage Losses Driven By Partisan Efforts to Sabotage Our Health Care System

Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement in response to a new CBO report this week that estimates marketplace health care premiums will jump 15 percent next year. The CBO report also estimates that 5 million more people will be uninsured by 2027. The elimination of the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate and President Trump's moves to bring back short-term junk health insurance plans are driving these projected premium increases.

"For months, the Trump Administration and Republicans in Congress have led a relentless partisan effort to sabotage our nation's health care system," said Rosen. "Now their reckless and irresponsible actions are projected to drive up insurance premiums on the exchange by a double-digit percentage and force Nevada's hardworking families to pay more for their health care. I will continue to stand up for Nevadans by trying to bring much-needed stability back to the health insurance markets and advocating for commonsense, bipartisan solutions to improve our health care system."
