Rosen Defense Measures Pass the House of Representatives

Statement

Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2019 (H.R. 5515). The NDAA contains amendments introduced by Rosen to make domestic violence a crime under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and highlight the threat the Yucca Mountain project poses to military training and testing in Nevada.

"I'm proud to see the House pass this bipartisan defense authorization bill that funds our military and includes measures I introduced to protect Nevadans from the harmful impact of the Yucca Mountain project and close a dangerous loophole in the Uniform Code of Military Justice. This essential legislation ensures that our servicemembers have the resources they need to defend our country. I look forward to seeing this bill become law and continuing to work to support Nevada's military families and facilities as a member of the House Armed Services Committee."
