Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) voted for S. 2372, the Senate version of H.R. 5674, the VA Maintaining Internal Systems and Strengthening Integrated Outside Networks (VA MISSION) Act. The VA MISSION Act passed the House with a 347-70 vote.
In addition to providing $5.2 billion for the VA Choice Program, reforming the program, and expanding support for veteran caregivers, this legislation includes provisions from Congresswoman Rosen's bipartisan Veterans Deserve Better Act, H.R. 4783. These provisions include improving Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care payment and reimbursement services to outside providers and a program to educate veterans about their VA health options.
"I'm proud to see key components of my bill to help veterans get better access to the health care they deserve pass the House," said Rosen. "Fulfilling our promises to veterans has to be a top priority, and failing to pay for our veterans' care in a timely manner is shameful. I will continue to work in a bipartisan way to strengthen the Veterans Choice Program and push for my commonsense measures to get signed into law."
