U.S. Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham released the following statement on French President Emmanuel Macron's address to Congress:

"Today's address by President Macron affirmed our deep and important relationship with France, which has existed since our nation's founding.

"I was encouraged by Macron's commitment to addressing climate change, supporting fair trade, and rejecting the politics of fear and anger. Now, more than ever, we have to embrace our shared, fundamental values of tolerance, civil rights, compassion, freedom, and democracy.

"The United States must remain committed to working with our global allies to support our mutual interests and uphold our deepest held beliefs."
