Hudson Statement on Iran Deal

Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement on the Trump administration's announcement on the Iran Nuclear Deal and new sanctions on the Iran regime:

"The Iran Nuclear Deal is a sham. Since its inception, it has only served to embolden, arm and enrich Iran -- the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism," said Rep. Hudson. "Iran gets cash and foreign investment, and it continues funding terrorism, destabilizing the region, and developing missiles that can reach the United States. And, if they wait 15 years they have a legal nuclear weapons program. I applaud President Trump for his leadership and this strong action to withdraw from the deal and re-impose sanctions. By leading from a position of peace through strength, the United States will continue to confront Iran's aggressive behavior. It is my hope that we can reach a new deal that will actually prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons capabilities."
