It's clear from @BetsyDeVosED's actions, she needs a strong and independent #2 to put students first. Unfortunately, General Zais has made it clear he would be proud to be her right hand man.
Like @BetsyDeVosED, her nominee for 2nd in command supports an extreme privatization agenda, opposes the federal govt's role in education, and seems to lack and understanding of key issues in public schools."
