Today, the House Judiciary Committee convened a hearing on "Filtering Practices of Social Media Platforms." Congressman Biggs, a member of the Committee, released the following statement:

"I'm concerned that internet and social media platforms are suppressing conservative voices around the nation. Today's hearing shed significant light on these reports and gave lawmakers insight into the documented incidents of perceived suppression. However, government must not overreact with regulations. That approach would quickly spiral out of control and start eroding Americans' First Amendment rights. Instead, we must encourage free market alternatives to the mainstream internet and social media platforms so that individuals have more choices and autonomy. I'm committed to this and will work with my colleagues to achieve this result."
