Luján Statement On U.S. Strikes On Syria

Congressman Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) issued the following statement in response to the U.S. strikes on Syria following a suspected chemical weapons attack:

"The Assad regime's use of chemical weapons against its own people is a despicable and evil act. While the strikes carried out with our British and French allies clearly seek to deter additional use of chemical weapons, the Trump Administration must clearly outline its objectives and provide a comprehensive and appropriate strategy to address this crisis. Any further military action must be debated, reviewed, and authorized by the Congress."
