Cramer: North Dakota Veterans to Benefit from Omnibus Bill

Statement

Congressman Kevin Cramer announced the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will use $685 million allocated by Congress to construct and renovate facilities for veterans across the country.

The VA State Veterans Home Construction Grant Program covers 65 percent of expenses for building and renovations. North Dakota is among the states in which 52 projects will take place.

"I believe we should do everything possible to make certain our veterans are taken care of," said Cramer. "With Congress ensuring it is properly funded and managed, the VA is able to better serve more veterans. I am pleased to see the VA use this funding to improve facilities, and will continue to support legislation addressing progress within the agency."

The omnibus funding bill passed in March appropriated $92 billion for Military Construction and Veterans Affairs. This funding aims to strengthen oversight and accountability at the U.S. Department of Defense and VA to ensure taxpayer dollars are being used to fully benefit service members and veterans.
