Cramer Statement on US Corn-Based Ethanol Imports to Japan

Statement

Date: April 18, 2018
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Trade Energy

Congressman Kevin Cramer issued the following statement on Japan's decision this week to open its markets to U.S. imports of a gasoline additive made from corn-based ethanol:

"I'm pleased Japan has opened its market to America's competitive corn-based ethanol. Traditional export markets in Brazil and Canada know the value, but increasingly I think others including India, Mexico, South Korea, and now Japan will see the advantage of this high-octane fuel and provide growth opportunities for our farmers and ethanol producers. I commend the Trump Administration and the progress made to strengthen our exports."

Cramer has voiced support for the energy and agriculture industries in North Dakota and recently commented on the Trump Administration's decision to open U.S. pork exports to Argentina. He expressed support for the benefits of increased international exports to the economy.
