Cramer: House Releases Farm Bill Text

Statement

Date: April 12, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Kevin Cramer commented on the release of the 2018 Farm Bill today, the Agriculture and Nutrition Act. Cramer says he is pleased several of the provisions he introduced are in the base bill including his fix to the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) commodity support program, his swampbuster minimal effects standards, and the National Forest System Vegetation Management Pilot Program Act.

"Our producers deserve to be supported with a strong Farm Bill, and I am pleased to see provisions included that will bring relief to North Dakotans," said Cramer. "By fixing the ARC program, and maintaining the crop insurance and livestock forage programs, our agriculture community will benefit from the legislation. I am particularly pleased my minimal effects language is in the base bill to provide relief from overbearing regulations. I will continue to work with the Agriculture Committee on the advancement of this bill."

The House Agriculture Committee is expected to pass the bill next week then the full House of Representatives will have the opportunity to offer amendments and vote on the legislation. The Senate is expected to release its version in the coming weeks.
