Cramer Working with USDA to Protect ND Farmers from Proposed Tariffs

Congressman Kevin Cramer issued the following statement after contacting U.S. Agriculture Secretary Perdue to talk about the impact of potential Chinese tariffs on North Dakota agriculture producers.

"I urge Secretary Perdue to use every tool provided to him under the Farm Bill, including Commodity Credit Corporation programs, to protect agriculture producers from the short-term effects resulting from potential trade actions against China," said Cramer. "Our farmers must know the Administration has their back and I urge them to act swiftly should these tariffs go into effect."

Cramer has been monitoring this issue and working to ensure North Dakota farmers and ranchers are not adversely impacted since the Trump Administration proposed tariffs on up to $150 billion of Chinese goods.
