"As we approach Earth Day & reflect on the beauty & importance of the environment to our culture, economy & lives, it is critical that we stay focused on fighting back against President Trump's agenda that would compromise our precious ecosystem. A few recent examples:
Earlier this month, @EPA decided to roll back fuel emission standards, threatening the quality of the air we breathe & undermining efforts to slow the effects of climate change:
Under President Trump, @Interior has moved to shrink or remove designations from some our prestigious national parks--compromising vital wildlife habitats & natural resources--in an effort to open up more land for additional oil & gas drilling:
Speaking of drilling--@SecretaryZinke helped pave the way for hazardous oil & gas drilling in the Arctic Refuge, one of our planet's last, richest natural habitats:
.@EPAScottPruitt has used his position to undermine the agency's core mission of protecting our environment, & has instead used his power to reverse commonsense environmental protections while wasting taxpayer dollars & lining his allies' pockets
...but even more reckless, @EPAScottPruitt pulled the US out of the Paris Climate Agreement, a global effort to stem the growing dangers of climate change already impacting our environment & a decision that will have consequences for generations to come.
These are just a few examples of what's at stake & why it's important that we continue to make our voices heard. This Earth Day, let's all recommit ourselves to our shared responsibility of protecting our environment from further harm #EarthDay2018"
