U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made the following statement today after the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted to approve the nomination of John Nalbandian of Kentucky, President Donald Trump's nominee to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit:

"I would like to congratulate John Nalbandian on earning the approval of the Senate Judiciary Committee today. President Trump has continued to nominate talented individuals, who have a deep respect for our Constitution and the role of judges in our democracy.

"The legal community in Kentucky -- as well as prominent attorneys and jurists throughout the country -- strongly supports Mr. Nalbandian's nomination because of his character, his professionalism, and his experience. He will do an outstanding job on the Sixth Circuit, and I look forward to the Senate confirming Mr. Nalbandian's nomination."
