Tough Questions on Syria

Statement

Date: April 18, 2018
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Foreign Affairs

Congressman John Curtis, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, posed tough questions to senior State Department officials regarding sanctions on Russia, the turbulent Middle East, and the coordinated military strikes in Syria.

Congressman Curtis added the following after the committee hearing. "The people of Utah's Third District deserve answers about this Administration's strategy against the Assad Regime and its barbaric use of chemical weapons on their own innocent civilians. We need to think beyond military action to promote stability, tolerance and respect for human rights in the region."

In addition to his role on the full Foreign Affairs Committee, Congressman Curtis serves on the Subcommittee for Middle East and North Africa and has received regular classified briefings on the evolving situation in the Middle East.
