U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Committee on Rules, released the following statement applauding the passage of a bipartisan package to make bold reforms to the Internal Revenue Service:
"The IRS is notorious for their continued failure to adequately serve the American people. That ends today. I proudly joined my colleagues in passing a package of legislation that makes bold reforms to this broken agency. This package aims to improve customer service, strengthen their outdated technology systems, prevent fraud, and increase accountability. I strongly urge my friends in the Senate to quickly consider this important measure so we can refocus this agency and finally put American taxpayers first."
