Gianforte Statement on the Retirement of Speaker Ryan

Montana Congressman Greg Gianforte today released the following statement in response to House Speaker Paul Ryan's announcement that he will retire:

"Paul Ryan did not seek the speakership, but he stepped up to assume the role at a critical moment. A selfless public servant, Speaker Ryan has guided the House of Representatives to substantial conservative accomplishments, including the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act which is helping hardworking Montanans. Speaker Ryan is a principled conservative and a deeply committed family man. I am grateful for his service to our country and will miss his thoughtful leadership."
