Location: Washington, DC

Montana Congressman Greg Gianforte released the following statement after the Ninth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals vacated a lower court's injunction against the project. The court's finding will allow construction of the diversion passage at the Intake Dam to proceed.

"Today's injunction is a win for the 400 Montana family farms that rely on the Lower Yellowstone Project for a reliable source of water," Gianforte said. "For too long, environmental extremist groups have used frivolous lawsuits to tie up the project and threaten farmers' livelihoods. I'm thankful the court overturned the injunction, and I'll continue serving as a strong voice for Montana and protecting our way of life."

James Brower, manager of the Lower Yellowstone Irrigation Project, applauded Gianforte's efforts: "The Montana and North Dakota Lower Yellowstone Irrigation Districts are grateful for Congressman Gianforte's continuous efforts on Intake. I have never seen any other legislator work week after week for their rural communities."
