DeGette Secures $27 Million for TREX

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO) announced that she has secured $27 million for the purchase of light rail vehicles and design work for the TREX Project in Southeast Denver.

"Expanding light rail in Colorado is critical to continuing our state's economic growth and reducing traffic congestion. I am proud to have secured this funding to purchase light rail cars and continue design work on TREX," said Rep. DeGette. "This is a tribute to federal, state and local governments' continued commitment to completing TREX on time and on budget."

The funds, provided through the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), are part of the $525 million federal commitment Rep. DeGette was able to secure for the Southeast Corridor Light Rail Project. This project is being jointly run by state and local transportation officials and includes the widening and modernization of I-25 and the addition of a light rail corridor from Broadway to Lincoln Avenue.
