Congresswoman Beatty Votes "Yes" on Bipartisan Government Funding Bill

Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1625, a bill to fund federal government agencies and operations for the remainder of Fiscal Year (FY) 2018, by a vote of 256-167. After the vote, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement:

"I voted in favor of the $1.3 trillion bipartisan government funding bill because it provides billions in additional funds for important programs and needs critical to people in my district and our nation that I have been fighting for in Congress. Most notably, the bill improves veterans' care and support services, increases investment in infrastructure repairs, early childhood education and higher education--including Historically Black Colleges and Universities--affordable housing and economic revitalization, and boosts funds to fight the opioid crisis. I am hopeful the Senate passes the bill and that President Trump signs it into law quickly, so that Congressional Republicans can finally shift their focus to working with Democrats on a whole host of other important issues facing our country and the globe."
