U.S. Senator Steve Daines today released the following statement after President Donald Trump announced his nomination of Admiral Ronny Jackson as the new secretary of Veterans Affairs.

"I appreciate Secretary Shulkin's years of service," said Daines. "Montana's veterans deserve strong leadership at Veterans Affairs. Admiral Ronny Jackson is a highly regarded patriot and I look forward to working with him to provide high quality of care and exceptional service to the Montanans who have sacrificed for our country."
