Gov. Ricketts Comments on Budget Debate

Statement

Today, Governor Pete Ricketts issued a statement following debate on the adjustments to the state budget. Discussion ended after senators failed to move budget adjustments forward on a procedural vote.

"It is unprecedented and disingenuous for members of the Appropriations Committee to filibuster a budget that they voted to bring to the floor. If the appropriators did not support the budget bill, they should not have voted for it in the committee. Senators need to lay their differences aside and work together to get these budget adjustments done with the pro-life language."
