"With the strong support of Democratic leadership in both chambers, I've worked with Republicans for months in good faith to try to negotiate a bipartisan agreement to lower health care costs and restore much-needed stability to health care in our country.

It's unfortunate Senator McConnell and Speaker Ryan have time and time again rejected bipartisan work on health care in favor of partisan health care politics, and chosen politically-driven show votes over getting a result for families.

Republican leaders were unwilling to get this done for patients and families once again, but I'm going to keep working to get Republicans back to the table to work with us on health care policies that actually help deliver what people want: lower health care costs."
