U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today issued a statement following the death of the Austin bombing suspect:

"Heidi and I would like to thank the work of the Austin, Round Rock, and Schertz Police Departments, Texas DPS, FBI, ATF, and all law enforcement who helped identify the Austin bomber, who is now dead. Austinites and Central Texans should continue to be vigilant and follow all warning from authorities, as work is still ongoing to ensure there are no more bombs that could threaten the community. We are particularly grateful to Austin Police Chief Brian Manley and Austin Mayor Steve Adler who have provided leadership during this troubling time. Our prayers continue to be with all victims who are recovering and all families who were impacted by this senseless murderer."
