Cantwell Statement on Trump Decision to Impose New Tariffs

U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) released the following statement after President Donald Trump announced new trade tariffs on steel and aluminum, which could start a trade war as countries look at possible retaliation against the United States:

"Exports are vital to Washington state's economy from aircrafts to agriculture. In fact, more than 12,650 Washington businesses are exporters, creating more than 375,000 good-paying jobs. We need to address unfair trade with targeted actions, avoiding harmful effects."
