Letter to Arthur Elkins, Inspector General - Rep. Dan Kildee, Senators Stabenow and Peters Ask EPA Inspector General for Update on Flint Investigation

Letter

Issues: Environment

Inspector General Elkins:

As you know, on January 21, 2016, the Office of Inspector General for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) notified officials that it would begin an investigation into the causes of the Flint water crisis. This information will be very helpful in ensuring that a similar crisis never happens again, either in Flint or any other community across America. Equally important, it will also help to bring justice to the thousands of families in Flint who are still living with the effects of this ongoing crisis.

Seeing as how this investigation began over two years ago, we write to seek an update as to when you anticipate this investigation will be completed and released to the public.

We would appreciate a written response by March 9th.

Sincerely,

Dan Kildee

Debbie Stabenow

Gary Peters
