"He has worked in the environmental field for over 25 years.
"He spent 12 of those years serving as this committee's Clean Air Subcommittee staff director and Republican staff director and general counsel.
"He has proven himself to be a well-qualified, experienced, and dedicated public servant.
"We all know that Mr. Wheeler will make an invaluable contribution to the protection of America's public health and safety as deputy administrator of the EPA.
"I urge my colleagues to vote yes on Mr. Wheeler's nomination."
