Congressman Bilirakis Issues Statement on Release of FISA Memo

"I am supportive of yesterday's decision by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) to release the FISA memo publicly. The President now has 5 days to review the memo and if he agrees with the Committee that its release will not jeopardize national security, the Committee will make the memo public. As I have previously shared, I found the contents of the memo about FISA abuses within the Department of Justice and FBI to be highly disturbing and believe the American people deserve to know the truth about what unelected and unaccountable government officials have been accused of doing. I want to see systemic reform so the American public can have confidence that political affiliation will not impact our justice system," said Congressman Bilirakis.
