U.S. Representative Michelle Lujan Grisham released the following statement in response to reports of President Trump's attempt to fire Special Counsel Mueller in June 2017.

"It is disturbing to hear reports that President Trump attempted to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller and obstruct the investigation he is conducting. Firing Mueller or undermining the independence of Mueller's investigation would be a gross abuse of power and is a red line that the President cannot cross. The American people deserve to know whether the Trump campaign or Administration coordinated with Russia to interfere in the 2016 election or obstructed justice. Reports like these only raise more questions of Trump's culpability."
