Statement

Date: Jan. 30, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) released the following statement after the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence voted to release the FISA Memo, containing previously-undisclosed information involving the Federal Bureau of Intelligence (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ). The President now has five days to review the memo and if he does not object, the Committee will make the memo public.

"Releasing the FISA memo is an important step in providing the American people with the transparency vital to the preservation of venerable government institutions. The evidence contained in the memo alleges gross negligence and inherent bias by government officials who are entrusted with critical security issues facing our nation," -said Congresswoman Claudia Tenney. "The American people have the right to evaluate the alleged abuse of power by these officials in an apparent attempt to exact revenge on a political opponent. The potentially illegal acts by these government officials threatens the integrity of our Constitutional Republic. I encourage President Trump to sign off on the Memo as soon as possible."
