Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) released the following statement in response to President Trump's State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress.

"The President talks of bipartisanship, and I am truly hopeful that this talk is genuine. However, actions speak louder than words, and the President's actions thus far have been hurtful and divisive. I hope his rhetoric tonight will be followed by a new spirit of bipartisan, bicameral cooperation that benefits all Americans."
