Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) co-sponsored H.R.1789, the bipartisan No Government, No Pay Act. This legislation that would prohibit members of Congress from getting paid during a government shutdown.

"Members of Congress ought to be held to the same standard and expectations as every working person in America," said Rosen. "If Congressional leaders refuse to do their job and fail to work across the aisle, then lawmakers should either donate their paycheck or return it Treasury until the government is back up and running. I urge my Republican colleagues to work with Democrats on finding a bipartisan, long-term spending bill that fully addresses our country's needs and avoids a costly, unnecessary shutdown."
