Pallone on Updated CBO CHIP Score

Statement

Energy and Commerce Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) released the following statement today in response to news reports on Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projections that a ten year reauthorization of the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) would save the government $6 billion:

"For over a year, President Trump and Congressional Republicans have done everything possible to sabotage our health care system. After showering corporations and the wealthiest few with tax cuts, Congressional Republicans have created a situation where we can provide permanent coverage to millions of kids through the CHIP program. This should be a no brainer -- we should stop the uncertainty and permanently extend CHIP."
