Rep. Ratcliffe Praises Reversal of Obama-era "Net Neutrality" Regulations

Press Release

Date: Dec. 14, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) released the following statement on the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) vote to reverse Obama-era "net neutrality" regulations through FCC Chairman Ajit Pai's Restoring Internet Freedom Order:

"The Obama administration's decision to classify broadband Internet access as a Title II utility was a classic case of a "solution in search of a problem" as it imposed burdensome regulations that stifled innovation and ultimately hurt consumer choice. I support Chairman Pai's order to reverse this decision, and I agree that a light-touch regulatory framework buttressed with reasonable antitrust protections is the best path forward."
