Moulton Statement on the Motion to Table the Resolution to Impeach President Trump

Statement

Date: Dec. 8, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Seth Moulton (MA-6) voted against the Motion to Table H.Res. 646, which calls for the initiation of impeachment proceedings for President Trump. Following the vote, Congressman Moulton released this statement:

"I voted against tabling the impeachment resolution because I believe the charges are legitimate and deserve a hearing. The timing of this resolution is poor; the legal argument could be stronger; and politically, advancing this now is inopportune. But when we vote, we should first and foremost consider the substance of the legislation, and here I agree with it."
