Congressman Andy Biggs' Statement on Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein's Anticipated Testimony

Today, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will testify before the House Judiciary Committee. Congressman Biggs sits on this committee and will have an opportunity to question Mr. Rosenstein. Congressman Biggs released the following statement:

"I look forward to welcoming Mr. Rosenstein to the House Judiciary Committee. I am disturbed that the Department of Justice has no apparent policy to vet prosecutors for conflicts of interest. This failure would never be tolerated in the private sector and has led to the persistent revelations of biases and conflicts within the Mueller team.

"I am prepared to give Deputy Rosenstein the benefit of the doubt and hope he answers my questions honestly. However, if we do not receive satisfactory answers, starting today, I am fully prepared to support contempt of Congress charges against those withholding information from the American people."
