"Just one year into this Presidency and we've seen nothing but broken promises to working families. So I wish I could say what we see in this tax bill is shocking, but sadly, at this point--it's expected.

You know, tax reform didn't have to be partisan. It didn't have to be a fight.

Democrats were ready to work across the aisle, we wanted a seat at the table. We wanted to give tax cuts to the middle class & close some of the egregious loopholes used by the wealthy and well-connected. Republicans refused.

Instead of working out in the open on this tax plan--Republicans worked in back rooms, where nobody could see what they were doing. And they didn't listen to actual middle class families who would be impacted.

People across the country have spoken loud and clear--they don't want this Republican tax bill. But they're still not listening.

I am calling on Republicans--one last time--to slow down, work with us, and get this done right. Democrats are sitting at the table and ready to get to work."
