Rep. Boozman Encourages Constituents to Help Hurricane Katrina Victims
Washington, Aug 31 - Rep. John Boozman (R-AR) today encouraged Third District residents to support relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
"Arkansans are caring people and we want to help our neighbors in a time of crisis," said Boozman. "There are a number of ways we can show our support, from donating blood or money to seeing if they need help at one of the state's shelters. I encourage you to contact your local Red Cross office and see how you can be of assistance."
Thousands of people have been displaced and are in shelters in a number of states, including Arkansas. Strategic housing planning is underway to address expected continued sheltering and eventual housing needs.
For those individuals looking for ways to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina; please refer to the follow organizations as listed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
