Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) issued the following statement in response to the verdict in the Kate Steinle murder trial:

"Kate Steinle's family has suffered an agonizing loss and now have been denied justice for the man who shot and killed her. If our immigration laws were enforced, Kate would be alive today. I defy anyone to defend that murderer's right to be on the San Francisco pier the night he took her life."
