Tonight, the Justice Department announced its intention to evaluate the appointment of a special counsel to investigate matters surrounding Uranium One and the Clinton Foundation, responding to two requests from the House Judiciary Committee. Congressman Andy Biggs, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, responded to the breaking news:
"We have been waiting for a response from the Justice Department since our first letter on July 27. Tonight, we received a response that is encouraging but far from the decisive action we requested. We must have an unbiased, independent special counsel to investigate the matters we have raised. We have spent long enough on meaningless evaluations and empty promises."
