Today, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) released the following statement after the House voted to pass the CHAMPIONING HEALTHY KIDS ACT of 2017 which reauthorizes the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and other important public health priorities including Community Health Centers (CHC):

"Funding for both CHIP and Community Health Centers are critical to the low- to middle-income New York families that I represent. In the 22nd District, we have four federally-funded health centers that leverage more than $10 million in funding to serve a population of 150,000 patients across 23 delivery sites. Reauthorizing these programs will ensure that families across Upstate New York continue to have access to the high-quality affordable health care they need," said Congresswoman Claudia Tenney.

In September, Rep. Tenney called on Speaker Ryan and Leader Pelosi to take immediate action to extend funding for the Community Health Centers program before it expired on September 30, 2017.

In August, Rep. Tenney visited the Family Health Network of Central New York in Cortland where she was awarded the Health Center Supporter Award for her advocacy and support of federally funded health care centers.
