Huizenga Supports Hurricane Aid and Wildfire Relief Legislation

Statement

This evening, Congressman Bill Huizenga released the following statement on Facebook after voting in support of legislation to provide emergency relief aid to Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Texas, Florida, and California.

We have all seen the images of devastation across Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Florida, and Texas from the recent hurricanes. As you are reading this wildfires continue to wreck havoc on California and destroy communities. Today, I voted in support of an emergency relief package to aid our fellow citizens. As this process moves forward, we need to make reforms and efficiencies to FEMA, the National Flood Insurance Program, and other disaster relief programs but the priority right now is to ensure our emergency responders, Guardsmen, and military have the resources to help our citizens.
