Committee Advances Two Department of Energy Nominees

The Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources today held a business meeting to advance two Department of Energy nominees to the Senate floor:

Mr. Bruce J. Walker, of New York, to be Assistant Secretary of Energy (Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability); and
Mr. Steven E. Winberg, of Pennsylvania, to be an Assistant Secretary of Energy (Fossil Energy).
The committee favorably reported Walker and Winberg by voice vote. Murkowski supported both nominations, which now head to the Senate floor.

A total of 11 nominees have been favorably reported from the Energy and Natural Resources Committee and are now awaiting full Senate confirmation.

Murkowski is chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
