Montana Congressman Greg Gianforte led a successful bipartisan effort in the U.S. House of Representatives to have Verizon overturn its decision to drop coverage for its rural customers, including hundreds in Montana.
"Verizon's decision to reverse its plan to cancel contracts and leave hundreds of Montanans without cell service is a win for our communities," Gianforte said. "Folks shouldn't be left without this critical service they rely on, particularly in our rural areas. It's a fundamental issue of safety."
Montanans began reaching out to Gianforte in mid-September with their concerns and frustrations with Verizon's decision. Gianforte immediately began working with a bipartisan group of legislators and Verizon to have the company reconsider its decision.
