Washington Needs To Get Out Of The Way

Hi Friend-
Knowing your interest in local business and our economy, I wanted to update you on my work in this critical area.
Earlier this month I spent time with the Virginia Manufactured and Modular Housing Association (VAMMHA) discussing and touring manufactured and modular homes. The modular and manufactured home industry is just one of many unique industries that call Virginia's 1st Congressional District home. Too often unique commerce is overlooked and underappreciated by the folks in Washington; moreover, unnecessary regulations imposed on unique industries can significantly hamper their ability to obtain much-needed lending.

These damaging regulations need to be stripped away so that consumers and producers can interact without Washington getting in the way. That is why I cosponsored H.R. 1699, the Preserving Access to Manufactured Housing Act, which addresses abusive mortgage lending practices and allows unique industries--such as this--to work how they're supposed to.

Lawmakers have to get out of the way and let businesses work. The American entrepreneurial spirit--not Washington--is what is guiding our nation's economy forward, and I will do everything in my power to continue to support our job creators.
